Overview

Our lead vocalist and violinist, Rachel also plays keys, viola & recorder. Having played & performed since she began violin lessons at age 5, she now holds a Bachelor with Honours in Music and has toured with groups overseas. Rachel has performed in a wide variety of shows, including the Logies with pop singer Anastacia. She is an accomplished performer and teacher, and you will love her sultry, unique voice.

Our lead guitarist Brett has been performing for 17 years, playing acoustic and electric guitar. Brett also plays the mandolin, and sings lead and backing vocals, adding to our versatility. He is an accomplished and devoted musician, teacher and composer, and his guitar playing will set the perfect mood for your event. Brett and Rachel began the Highly Strung duo in 2000- several months before they exchanged vows!

Melinda plays flute, piccolo, recorders, keys, percussion, and backup vocals. She began learning music when she was five, and holds a Bachelor in Music. She has performed locally and overseas, and won many eisteddfods and awards. Her playing brings a unique edge to our band.

Our drummer and percussionist John has been performing for 12 years, and his experience shows in the versatility of styles he plays and writes. He holds a Bachelor in Music, and has toured overseas. His professional style will impress you, and the energy he brings to the band will have everyone on the dance floor!
